The staff at Shadow Mountain Resort recommends the following restaurants, not only for their close proximity to our hotel, but also for the atmosphere, quality of food, and service – some of the best in Southern California. These and other fabulous restaurants are located along El Paseo, just a few short blocks from the resort.
Can’t decide where to eat? Join Desert Tasty Tours, a walking food tour along El Paseo and sample six different restaurants/specialty shops during this 3-hour tour. In addition to sampling a variety of foods, learn about the art, history, and culture of Palm Desert and the surrounding area. Tours are held Wednesdays – Saturdays, October through April.

Wilma & Frieda’s is well known for their comfort food, served up with a twist. Try their think sliced meatloaf with eggs on top. They also have great salads, like their strawberry spinach salad.
The Venue Sushi Bar is perfect for a big night out on the town. They offer sushi, sashimi, caviar and saki. All of their dishes are served with beautiful presentation.
Ristorante Mamma Gina serves up classic Italian fare – in the desert! The atmosphere is relaxing and you’ll feel like you’re in grandma’s kitchen.
Pastry Swan Bakery’s Fix specializes in custom cakes and pastries. Stop by in the morning for freshly brewed coffee or a sandwich at lunch. They offer live music on weekend evenings.
Mastro’s Steakhouse offers the finest selection of steaks and chops, like their Chef’s Cut Ribeye Chop. They have an excellent bar and you have to try their martinis.
Stop by La Spiga Ristorante Italiano for some old fashioned Italian fare. Everything is done from scratch, like their house-ground meat and homemade sauces.
Jillian’s Fine Dining serves up delectable dishes in an ambient atmosphere with white linens, flowers and plenty of wine. The head chef spend a great deal of time ensuring the menu is always fresh and inspiring.
Stop by Thai Smile of Rancho Mirage for some easy, classic Thai food. Their Shrimp Curry is delicious and we also love their fried rice.
