When the Indio Performing Arts Center set out on a mission to provide everyone with an equal opportunity to enjoy the creativity and culture that live theater brings, they probably didn’t know how popular the event would become. In it’s first season, the Coachella Valley Improv/Comedy Festival saw a large attendance, with the improv group “White Women” taking home first prize after a hilarious performance.
The festival will return this July and will follow the same 3-day format that it did earlier. Come out and watch comedians and improv groups compete to see who can get the most laughter. The event consists of a Friday night reception that serves as an honorary appreciation of the art of comedy. Performances will be in the afternoon and evenings and the city has offered huge discounts for early submissions to allow as many people as possible to attend. This year’s event will be hosted at the Hi-Desert Cultural Center
